    Has anyone here had a 68RFE whine or whir in 4th and 5th gear and the 1-2 shift? Trans was built about a year ago with a billet input shaft, Revmax valve body, Transgo shift kit, Suncoast anti-cavitation filter kit, and updated clutch drum for more clutches I bought it from a few local people, and they thought it was the torque converter, so I went from a DPC double disc to a Revmax triple

    Have 60,000 on my truck and did a full trans filter and fluid change I put on a new Revmax deep pan and revmax thermal bypass too All said and done i refilled with ATF+4 fluid it took 12 1 2 qts of fluid I ran it around a bit to make sure all is well Everything around here is 7% grades, temp, outside is a brisk 20* and after driving around my trans temp reached 138* drive time about 30 min

    Re: 68RFE Torque Converter Lockup? Depends on the converter etc , and trans tuning Stock converter applies PWM; the ECM can gradually use it Alot of tuners dont; they do on off so if you have a non-dampened clutch in the converter, it's violent A 5-disc is also more aggressive than a 3-disc
